Jarrett passed away at Jackson Madison County hospital this morning. She had been in and out of the hospital since suffering burns over 80% of her body in the Sept. 2010 explosion.
Kilgore was found guilty of several violations following the explosion.
Statement from Kilgore:
The news of Erika?s death has deeply saddened all of us in the Kilgore family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children, mother and her entire family. Our community is very close and this loss has deeply affected us all. Since the news of her passing, we have gathered our employees to communicate and pray and then we closed the plant for the remainder of the day. When funeral arrangements are finalized we will make appropriate arrangements so that all employees may attend the service. In addition, we will have professional counselors from our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available at the plant to meet with employees to provide bereavement support. We have also contacted Erika%u2019s husband and her children to provide counseling to them through the EAP. We extend our deepest sympathies to her friends and family; Erika will be missed by all of us.
