It's not just Memphis anymore.

According to news accounts out of Orlando Thursday night, lawyers for the home city of the Orlando Magic, like those in Memphis, are studying the possibility of a lawsuit against the NBA because of the protracted lockout.

A lockout that still had no end in sight as talks led by a mediator broke down again Thursday.

According to www.baynews9.com, an Orlando city spokesperson has confirmed that lawyers for the city are looking into the possibility of an NBA lawsuit.

Orlando also is supposed to host the All-Star game in February, and assembling All-Star players would reportedly be problematic if games are canceled through Christmas, according to the news site.

The Memphis City Council passed a resolution Tuesday authorizing council attorney Allan Wade to study possibilities of recouping lost money. Those possibilities include a lawsuit against the league.

Wade is reporting back to the council in two weeks. He had no comment Thursday night.

Following the council's passage of its resolution, meanwhile, a writer for "The Oregonian" wrote a piece headlined "Potential lawsuit by Memphis is just the kind of outside pressure this lockout needs."

Mike Tokito also wrote for "The Oregonian" that the city of Orlando spent $480 million for its new Amway Center, "and having no games for its primary tenant is no way to repay that mammoth bill."

Two-thirds of NBA arenas are the result of some degree of public financing, according to CBSSports.com.
