FAST FACTS:
- A woman was found murdered on the side of the road in Coahoma County, MS
- Deputies identified her as 24-year-old Charlina Miller.
- Miller?s mother called her a compassionate person that loved life.
?No one deserves to be shot down like that,? said Vera Gee, the victim?s mother. ?If you can't give a life you shouldn't be able to take one.? Gee is shocked that her youngest child, Charlina Miller, was murdered. ?My baby is gone,? she said in disbelief.
The Coahoma County Sheriff's Department said Miller's body was found around 7:30 am Friday on side of Hopson-Pixley road just south of Clarksdale, MS.
?One thing a mother doesn't like doing is burying her children,? said Gee. ?They are supposed to bury us, not the other way around.?
A family member of Miller's said off-camera that her body was found by two teenage girls who were on their way to school. The family member said the girls witnessed a man who may be the killer standing over her body, but he left before deputies arrived.
?I'm going to pray and I know God is going to see that justice is going to be done,? Gee said.
In the meantime, she says her daughter was someone who loved life and was compassionate. ?I want her to be remembered as being a happy person and to know that we loved her,? said Gee.
She added that in the midst of this tragedy, God is giving her strength. She said her daughter?s life will live on. ?This here,? said Gee as she tapped on her chest. ?It?s in my heart. That?s how I keep her memory alive.?
