(Memphis 09/17/11) - Keys lock up our homes and keep us safe, but early Saturday morning, they allegedly became the center of a fight, where a woman shot her boyfriend.

23-year-old Kawanda Elumn was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. An affidavit states she shot her boyfriend while arguing over the keys to her house.

The argument took place in front of this home in the 2200 block of Griggs. The affidavit says that Elumn, "fired one shot striking the victim in the left arm with a 9mm".

After the shooting, the affidavit says Elumn and her sister, "placed the victim in the backseat to get the victim to the hospital."

While on the way, Elumn flagged down a Memphis Police officer by honking her horn. The victim was taken was then taken from there to the Med by ambulance in non-critical condition.

A family member of the victim told me off camera that the argument had nothing to do with keys. Instead, he said Elumn lied and that the victim had given the keys to Elumn's sister earlier that day. The family member said the shooting doesn't make sense.

Police say they found the loaded gun and placed the 23-year old under arrest. What started with fight over keys gotElumn locked up.

She is currently being held on a 10,000 dollars bond.
